Procopio Franco

Procopio Franco ( Procopio Franco Hernández; born July 8, 1970 in Mexico City) is a Mexican marathon runner.

In 2001 he was Central America / Caribbean champion in the half marathon and came at the World Half Marathon Championships in Bristol on the 84th place, and in 2002 he was fourth in the Maratón de la Comarca Lagunera and won the gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games.

In 2004 he was second overall in the comarca Lagunera Mexican champion and qualified for the Olympic Games in Athens, where he finished in 55th place. In 2006 he defended second overall in the comarca Lagunera his national title and won another Gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games. The following year he was fifth in the comarca Lagunera, won at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro bronze and finished sixth at the Gyeongju International Marathon.

In 2008 he was the overall winner in the comarca Lagunera for the third time national champion. As a third of a 30-km race excretion of the Mexican Association of Athletics Federations, he was nominated for the Olympic Games in Beijing, where he broke in on rank 47. In Monterrey Marathon he finished third. In 2009 he was second in the Guadalajara Marathon.
