Gyeongju International Marathon

The Gyeongju International Marathon is a marathon in Gyeongju, which is co-hosted by the province of Gyeongsangbuk -do, Gyeongju city, the Korean Association of Athletics Federations and the newspaper Dong -a Ilbo. The event also includes a half marathon, a 10 - km and 5- km run. The Gyeongju International Marathon is an IAAF Silver Label Road Race.

History

The newspaper Dong -a Ilbo moved the conference organized by it every spring Seoul International Marathon in 1992 and 1993 to Chuncheon to Gyeongju, where he was held until 1999. In 2000 she took this race back to Seoul and taught from now on in the autumn in a marathon of Gyeongju, directed particularly at amateur runners from the Masters category.

2007 Gyeongju Marathon was revalued by an obligation of international elite runners to Gyeongju International Marathon.

Gyeongju is also venue of a Cherry Blossom Marathon. This amateur race takes place every year at the time of cherry blossom.
