" A perfect blend of brilliant action scenes and dry sense of humor, which was degraded in the miserable synchronization with corny jokes. "

Comments

  • The film was also under the titles Pirate Patrol, Jackie Chan 's Project A and Mark of the Dragon.
  • Highlights of the film are Chan's acrobatic number on the clock tower, a bike chase and a mass brawl in a bar
  • The scene in which Jackie climbs a bell tower and thereby threatens the hands of a clock hanging to plunge into the depths, is reminiscent of Harold Lloyd and his classic film Safety Last! ( Ironically, skyscrapers ) from the year 1923. A similar climbing scene at the hands of a clock with Chan was used in Shanghai Knights 2003. From the scene three versions were filmed, of which two are used for the film, while the last one was seen at outtakes at the end.
  • Chan fell for the stunt at the clock actually in depth, the fall itself was slowed by only two awnings. He suffered a serious neck injury that would cost him almost life. This stunt had long been planned, but Chan took a long time to muster the necessary courage. Incredibly, he performed this two more times because he was dissatisfied with the first fall.
  • Chan has also broken his nose during the filming.
  • The supporting actor Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao are old fellow actors Jackie Chan, belonging to its fixed pivot rod, with which he films the Powerman and Others - turned row.
  • In the German version the upper pirate Sam Pau got added a somewhat incongruous act wide North German accent in her mouth.
