Prosity

Prosity ( German: Pross Itten ) is a place in Poland in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, part of the municipality Bisztynek in powiat Bartoszycki.

History

Is first documented Pross Itten in 1354. During the 15th century the place was desolate by war influences and was founded in 1529 by Bishop Mauritius Ferber.

The place came in the wake of the restructuring after the Second World War and the associated division of East Prussia to Poland. Until that time he belonged to the Prussian district Rößel in Warmia.

Structures

The parish church of St. Mary was built in 1585 and was ordained in 1608. In the years 1840 - 1844 a neo-Gothic building was built on the foundations of the earlier church built and consecrated in 1845 by Bishop Josef Geritz.
