Psychostick

Psychostick is an American Fun Metal band from Phoenix, Arizona.

History

After Joshua Key played in the 1990s in several bands in Texas, he moved in with Rob " Rawrb " Kersey to Phoenix ( Arizona). There, the two learned Alex Preiss (drums) and bassist Hunter Alexander know. Together, they formed Psychostick in August 2000. A month later, the first demo Do not Bitch, It's Free appeared. On Valentine's Day 2001, the first appearance of the group followed. In August 2001 the second demo, The ... A Lot appeared! .

December 2001 rose from Hunter and was replaced by Mike Hawkizzard. In May 2002, the self-financed debut album We Could not Think of a Title appeared. In 2005, the song was Beer! played on the radio station Squizz XM and the listener charts was chosen for seven weeks at No. 1. Then, the flash movie distributed by Beer! about Ebaumsworld.com and Collegehumor.com. Rock Ridge Records became aware of the group and released the debut album again. There also appeared the second album The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride. In 2007, the line-up changed again. In 2009 they had the album sandwich with Jimmy Changa on bass, and with new guitarist Jakermeister.

Music style

Psychostick are a hardcore punk band in the tradition of Gang Green and The Spudmonsters, the value sets especially humorous lyrics and quirky live presence. Also the design of their Phonograms indicates the Fun Metal aspect of their music. Thus it can be seen on the back of their debut album, a checklist, in which only the item " Think of album title" is not ticked.
