Publier

Publier is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Publier is located on 499 m above sea level. M., five kilometers east-northeast of the town of Thonon -les- Bains ( straight line ). The village is located in the Chablais, with splendid views of the valley east of the Dranse, some 120 m above the lake level of Lake Geneva.

The area of ​​9.70 square kilometers municipal area includes a section on the south bank of Lake Geneva; the lake shore line is about 4.5 kilometers. The western part of the municipality lies on the large, flat alluvial fan, which the Dranse has piled up at its mouth into the lake. Here lies the nature reserve of the Dransedeltas. History

Publier is first mentioned in the 15th century. Much was known to the time of Napoleon and later in the 19th century spa town Amphion -les- Bains.

Attractions

The village church of Publier dates from the 19th century. In Amphion is the chapel of Notre -Dame de la Rencontre. In the field, the manors Chateau de Blonay located with its own chapel, Château des Tileuls and Château du Pré Fleuri. The old village center of Amphion -les- Bains is characterized by a remarkable medieval townscape.
