Puerto Nariño is a town with 6983 inhabitants ( 2005) in Colombia Departamento de Amazonas.

Most residents of the city are of indigenous origin. In the city, no vehicles are allowed, the only way to power is through the Amazon with motorboats.

Puerto Nariño was founded on 18 August 1961 as Office ( Corregimiento Departamental ) and was in January 1984 by decree of the city. Owes its name to the city of the famous Colombian General Antonio Nariño, who made ​​an important contribution in the war of independence against Spain.
