Pula, Hungary

Pula is a small village in the Hungarian county of Veszprém.

Location

Pula is 25 km distance from Veszprém, is located 15 km from Tapolca and is located north of Lake Balaton. Pula is the easternmost town on the river Eger.

History

In the vicinity of Pula items were found from the early Iron Age.

In the 13th century, was near the present village, the monastery of Tálod, but this was abandoned in the 16th century and demolished under Turkish occupation.

Written Pula was first mentioned in 1357 and Pola. During this period included the surrounding lands of Rátóti family. The population began in the 16th century, to leave the area.

The inhabitants of the village were 70-80% German who treat injuries sustained in 1746 at the invitation of the Esterházy family. The " German atmosphere " remained to this day.

By 1950, the village belonged to the County of Zala.
