Appearance

The finger - anemone is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches a height of 10 to 35 centimeters. The basal leaves are palmately compound, the leaflets lobed. The basal leaves are trifoliate, the leaflets in three parts. The venation is pinnately - up.

The finger - anemone has a very large distribution area, which extends from central Europe to Russia to western Siberia. It is found on sandy and semi- dry grasslands and dry pine forests.

In Germany the species is considered " threatened with extinction " and is accordingly on the Red List. It occurs today only at a few sites in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps ( Garching Heath, Truderinger forest, Neustadt on the Danube, Kelheim ). Former presence in Brandenburg ( in Guben ) and Mecklenburg -Western Pomerania ( Rothemühl ) are extinguished.
