Pundalik Naik

Pundalik Narayan Naik ( born 1952 in Indian state of Goa) is an Indian poet, short story writer, Roma writer, playwright and screenwriter from Goa. He wrote 40 books and two films.

Naik is since 2002 President of Goa Konkani Akademi federal. His novel Acchev (The Upheaval, 1977) and the first Konkani novel has been translated into English.

He won the Sahitya Akademi Award in Konkani for his work, Chowrang, 1984, awarded by the National Sahitya Akademi. For his life's work in 2010, he won the award Gomant Sharda Puraskar.
