Punu people

The Punu ( proper name Bapunu, plurality of Mupunu ) are a people Südgabuns that lives in the region Niari in Congo-Brazzaville.

The Punu migrated in the 18th century by the north-westerly in the basin of Ngounié in southern Gabon. They lived in independent communities that were only divided into clans and families. The language of Bapunu is the Yipunu. One meets Speaker of Yipunu mainly in the provinces Ngounié and Nyanga.
