Pushover (video game)

Pushover, occasionally Pushover or push -over written, is a computer puzzle game from the year 1992. Was developed by Red Rat Software and distributed by Ocean. Since it is no longer marketed commercially for many years, it is abandonware. However, there are offered as freeware remake of the game.

Gameplay

Basically, it comes with Pushover about a chain reaction of dominoes set up in limited time such that a certain in its position fixed, predetermined, rock falls last. The player controls while an ant can carry around the dominoes on the field and ultimately trigger. The playing field is divided in two dimensions shown depending on the level in several floors and platforms, between which the ant can move on ladders or jumps.

Unlike real domino chain reaction exist in Pushover different units with specific, in reality, often impossible, properties. There are, for instance bricks that will not tip or fall down, but ascend. Other stones roll over several times, explode on contact, share if another stone falls on them, tilt about only after a delay, disappear if tipped over, gaps between chasms can be bridged or are totally immobilized. In most levels the regular stones are clearly in the majority, while the action blocks are used only to complete the chain reaction.

Almost in every level most of the stones are already set correctly and the player has to make only a few changes. In later levels still stones must also be changed after starting the chain reaction, which requires even more precise planning of its movements by the player. If the construction phase completed, the ant may once initiate a stone. A level is regarded as solved if all stones are overturned (except the generally immobile ) and the so-called trigger last fall. In addition, no stones must be destroyed, what happens if a stone falls from the top to another, and the ant may hold no more stone in their hands.

There is a five-digit code for that specific, so you can always jump to the levels to which you want to each level. By the way it goes about a total of 11 packs dog snacks ( in the SNES version: bill - packets) to find. If you have certain level solved within the time limit, you get such a package. Total Pushover has 99 levels. Only if the player has received all the packages, he may end up playing an extra bonus level in which all the action stones look like regular stones
