Pustevny

Pusteven ( German: Pustevny ) is a municipality belonging to Prostřední Bečva settlement and open-air museum in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north-east of Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in Okres Vsetín.

Geography

Pusteven is located east of the summit of the Radhosť on its elongated ridge in the Moravian- Silesian Beskids. North-east rises the Tanečnice ( 1084 m) and to the east of the Kněhyně ( 1256 m). To the east lies the small lake Sea Eye, behind the Nature Reserve Kněhyně - Čertův extends Mlýn. From the hotel Ráztoka in Trojanovice a cable car leading to Pusteven.

Neighboring towns are Podstupně in the south and Trojanovice in the northwest.

History

Until the 19th century was on the Radhosť comb the hermitage Pusteven. The farm was abandoned after the death of its last owner in 1874. In 1898 the Mountain Club commissioned for the Radhosť the architect Dusan Jurkovic with the establishment of a mountain lodge. He planned a rich meal timber decorated in Art Nouveau style, reminiscent of the Slavic folk architecture. After the completion of the Maměnka built Jurkovic 1899 in the same style, the cottage Libušín, when Aleš also undertook the design. Also according to plans by Jurkovic was at this time a timbered belfry in the Wallachian style.

1931 was placed on a 1105 m high knoll southwest of Pusteven one created by Albín Polášek statue of the pagan god Radegast. The sculpture of eisenbewehrtem artificial stone made ​​with added granite quarry turned out for the harsh climatic conditions on the Beskidenkamm unsuitable and was replaced in 1998 one of Jan Sobek from Leskovec created copy of solid granite. The original has been implemented in the entrance hall of the Town Hall of FRENŠTÁT pod Radhoštěm.

In 1995, the Baude Maměnka and Libušín were elevated to national cultural monument. You are now connected to the Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. In 2000, its restoration was completed. Pusteven is now also a popular winter sports resort with eleven ski lifts and nine runs.

On March 3, 2014 burned the hut ' Libušín ' from yet unknown reason.
