Good Putkaste

In the Middle Ages Putkaste was an episcopal town, which bore the name Saulepa. In the 16th century the estate was founded by Putkaste. It was in 1620 united with the Good of Suuremõisa. Owner was the Swedish military Jacob De la Gardie ( 1583-1652 ). In 1691 the estate was confiscated by the Swedish government to cover the reduction. From 1720 to 1755 was Putkaste Crown Estate. 1805 was Putkaste owned by the aristocratic Baltic German family Stackelberg. Last owner was before the expropriation in the course of the Estonian land reform in 1919 Margaret Baroness Stackelberg.

From 1934 to 1938 an agricultural school was housed on the estate. During the Soviet occupation of Estonia, the mansion of the administration, which was founded in 1944 state farms served. 1977 in the laboratory of state farms has been established.

The main building was built in the early 19th century, immediately after the transfer of ownership to the family from the Stackelberg. The two and a half storey building is in the style of classicism. A characteristic feature is the arched window above the main entrance. The wings are decorated with triangular pediment. For the garden side is the large hall. Before the house is a representative pond. The building stands empty today.

In the spring of 2007, a fire destroyed the historic memory of the material.
