Pyongyang Station

The main railway station is the main station of Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. It is located in the Sosong Street in the downtown district of Chung- guyŏk.

The station is the starting point of the railway lines Pyongbu, Pyongui and Pyongnam. The Pyongui line goes according to Sinuiju, the Pyongbu - line is theoretically through Seoul to Busan, the last stop, however, before the demilitarized zone in Kaesong. The Pyongnam line from Pyongyang after Namp'o is also navigate from the main train from Pyongyang. Originally built in 1906 by the Japanese colonial government two-storey station building of red brick was destroyed during the Korean War in 1953 and rebuilt.
