The Qu'Appelle River [ kəpɛl ] is a Canadian river. It flows for a distance of 430 km from the dam Lake Diefenbaker in southwestern Saskatchewan to the east and flows into Manitoba in the Assiniboine River.

The Qu'Appelle River flows through numerous lakes, among them

  • Buffalo Pound Lake, northwest of Regina, created by the damming of the Qu'Appelle River in 1956; the reservoir supplies Regina, Moose Jaw, and the potassium Chemicals Potash mine at Belle Plaine.
  • The four Fishing Lakes ( Pasqua, Echo, Mission, and Katepwa ) northeast of Regina.
  • Further downstream, north of Grenfell and Broadview, Crooked Lake and Round Lake.
