Quintus Antistius Adventus

Quintus Antistius Adventus Postumius Aquilinus was a Roman politician, Senator and military of the 2nd century.

Born about the middle of the 120 years Antistius was a homo novus and came from Thibilis in Numidia.

After Militärtribunat in the Legio I Minervia he began his senatorial career as quaestor in the province of Macedonia. Later he was tribune, legate in the province of Africa and praetor. As legate of Legio VI Ferrata, he worked in Syria Palestine, from 162 as legate of Legio II Adiutrix participants of the Parthian War, where he was highly decorated. Probably 165 to 167 was Antistius Adventus governor of Arabia Petraea, in this province a ceremony in Bosra is obtained for him and one for his wife in Jerash. Later Antistius served as curator operum locorumque publicorum for public construction in Rome. Antistius was married to Novia Crispia and father of the consul of the year 181, Lucius Antistius Burrus.
