Rabat Ajax FC

The Rabat Ajax FC is a Maltese football club from the city of Rabat whose origins go back to the club, founded in 1930 Rabat Rovers FC. Received its current name of the club in 1980 by a merger with Rabat Ajax.

History

The club was a two- time national champion in the 1980s and also won the Cup once. In the first decade of the 21st century Rabat Ajax played mainly in the second division of Malta. Rabat Ajax took in the 1980s, each twice in the UEFA Cup and the European Champions Cup in part, but different in each case in the first round.

Venue of the club is the 17,000 -seat Ta ' Qali Stadium, the national stadium of Malta.

The most famous player in club history is Carmel Busuttil, who played between 1988 and 1994 at the KRC Genk five years in the first Belgian League as well as 1983 and 1986 Footballer of the Year in Malta was. Silvio Vella had the same honor in 1994.
