Racecourse is a country town in the south of Jamaica. The city is located in Middlesex County in the Parish Clarendon. In 2010 Racecourse had a population of 3,016 people

Geography

Racecourse is located in the southernmost headland of Jamaica, a few kilometers from the coast. The cultivated landscape around the village, which is used for the cultivation of agricultural products is leveled and is on average 10 meters above the sea level. Racecourse is located just west of the Rio Minho, the largest watercourse on the island. Between the village and the coast was a large tract of land to artificial breeding ponds of Trans Global Aquaculture LTD. converted.

The nearest village is in the East the small settlement of Gowrie which is located in the neighborhood. Also east, about 3 kilometers from the two cities, is the small town of Exeter. About three kilometers north is Kemps Hill. In the south, between the village and the large breeding ponds are located in about three kilometers from the settlements Longwood and Heathfield. The nearest large towns are located about 9 kilometers north exploiting dividend Hayes and Brokebank in the east which is located about 4 kilometers away.
