Račetice

Račetice ( German Ratschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers north of Podbořany and belongs to Okres Chomutov.

Geography

Račetice is located on the right side above the valley of Liboc in the North Bohemian Basin. Through the village, the road II/224 of Kadan after Podbořany.

Neighboring towns are Libědice in the northeast, Čejkovice in the east, and Kněžice Mory in the southeast, Široké Třebčice and Nové Třebčice in the south, Vitčice in the southwest, and Topolany Vilémov in the west and Vidolice and Pětipsy in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village took place in 1209.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Ratschitz / Radčedice 1850 a district of the municipality Libotitz a municipality in the district Kaaden. Since 1880 Ratschitz formed its own community. The present name Račetice is used since 1924. 1930 lived 322 people in Ratschitz. After the Munich Agreement in 1938, the site added to the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district Kaaden. 1939 had 287 inhabitants of the village. After the end of World War II, the village came back to Czechoslovakia and the German population was expelled. With the beginning of 1961 the village was incorporated into Pětipsy and at the same time associated with the Okres Chomutov. Since 1990, the community is Račetice again.
