Radoslav Banga

Gipsy, civil Radoslav Banga ( born May 6, 1982 in Prague ) is a Czech rapper.

Life

Gipsy spent his youth in Prague as a street child. He founded around 1995 together with other young Roma hip- hop group Snopp syndrome, their success was limited to the Czech hip- hop scene. His debut album as a solo artist Ya Favourite CD Rom was released in 2004 and made him known beyond the boundaries of Czech, so it got a positive review from the French music magazine Mondomix in which he was described as a young talent. Gipsy was, among other concerts at the Carnival of Cultures and in Kaffee Burger (both in Berlin). During this time he was several times a guest at Radiomultikulti in Berlin or Radio Europe in Cologne. While he only english rapped on his first album, the lyrics on his second album Rymy a blues were mostly Czech. Rymy a Blues was nominated in 2005 for a Andel Award ( Czech version of the Grammy Awards) in the category " Hip Hop & R'n'B ". In 2006 he co-founded the band Gipsy.cz, the longer refers to the traditional music of the Czech Roma in contrast to Gipsy. After about three and a half years Gipsy was no longer active as a solo artist. In 2010 he released his third album Autentik he offered exclusively for free download on his official website. Gipsy but made ​​it a condition not to disseminate the songs on the Internet, but they only download from his website. Nevertheless, he accepted voluntary donations, which he published his account number. Another peculiarity was that he not released the album at a time, but each week a song hochlud. He discontinued the project Autentik prematurely, because the songs on the album were distributed on the Internet, which found in him a lack of understanding.
