Rafael Addiego Bruno

José Rafael Addiego Bruno ( born February 23, 1923 in the department of Salto, † February 21, 2014 ) was a Uruguayan politician and lawyer. In 1985, he was 17 days, interim President of Uruguay.

Addiego Bruno was born as the son of Italian descent Nicolás Addiego and the Italian Carmela Bruno. He published in 1946 a historical research paper entitled " Historia de la Influencia Británica en el Río de la Plata ". Addiego Bruno completed his legal education on July 1 in 1950 with the acquisition of the legal title. He worked then as a judge, minister at the Court of Appeal and as a member of the Supreme Court of Uruguay ( Suprema Corte de Justicia ). He also served from 1954 to 1964 Associate Professor of Procedural Law at the Law Faculty of the Universidad de la República. At the Supreme Court, he held from February 1, 1985, the function of the President and was in the final stages of the civil-military dictatorship after the resignation of Gregorio Álvarez in accordance with the broad support of the four major parties and the Uruguayan armed forces February 12, 1985 Article 156 of the Uruguayan Constitution transitional president of the country. In his short tenure, he appointed two Ministers and the Secretary General of the President. Addiego Bruno held the office until March 1, 1985, was then peeled from the Julio María Sanguinetti elected in the elections of 25 November 1984 as President. 2003 was Addiego Bruno " Ambassador of Peace " ( " Ambassador of Peace" ), founded by Sun Myung Moon Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace ( IFFWP in Germany IFFWF ).
