Rafał Majka

Rafał Majka ( born September 12, 1989) is a Polish road racing cyclist. He is 1.73 meters tall, his racing weight amounts to 62 kg. Majka has its strengths especially in hilly terrain and also in the high mountains.
Rafał Majka 2007 she won a stage in the junior race Závod Miru. From 2008 he drove for the Italian team Gragnano Amateur Sporting Club. In his second year there he won the one-day races Firenze- Viareggio and he was eighth at the Gran Premio Capodarco. Then he drove the end of the season in the Continental Team Miche - Silver Cross - Selle Italia internships, got there but no professional contract. In 2010 he went on as an amateur at Trevigiani Dynamon Bottoli. With the Polish national team, he won a stage at Carpathia Couriers Path and finished tenth overall. Since 2011, Majka goes for the Danish ProTeam Saxo Bank SunGard, where he equal to the Vuelta a España denied in his first season.
In the 2012 season he should lead Saxo Bank as a captain in the Giro d' Italia. His preparation for the annual target Majka began in September in the Mediterranean cruise, where he primarily on the final day was doing a helper for the Spanish climber Daniel Navarro. Majka even reached by rank 26 in the final mountain top finish 23rd in the final standings of the Tour.
At the Giro in 2013, he was outstanding with excellent performance on the mountain and could partially compete with the best climbers. Before the last mountain stage Majka led with two seconds ahead, but still had to leave the Colombians the jersey on the way to the Three Peaks. In the overall classification of the poles seventh.
