Icosteus aenigmaticus is about two meters long expectant representatives of the perch family ( Percomorpha ). He is systematically isolated and belongs to its own family.
The animals arrive in the North Pacific, from Japan to Alaska to southern California at depths 0-1420 meters before and eat fish, cephalopods and jellyfish. The fish live close to the ground, the young fish in shallower regions.
Features
Icosteus aenigmaticus has a narrow body of chocolate brown color. The fins have no hard jets. Fully Accreted animals lack the pelvic fins, they have no or ingrown into the skin flakes.
