The Rahden station ( district of Minden - Luebbecke ) is the northernmost passenger station of North Rhine -Westphalia in the city Rahden in the Minden -Lübbecke. It is located at the northern end of the operational branch line of frets ( Westphalia ) - there is connection to the railway wages - Rheine - with through binding to Herford station on the railway line Hamm- Minden.

History

The Rahden station was opened on 1 October 1899, was at this time endpoint of the railway line from frets. Exactly one year later, another stretch was first then to Bassum taken to Sulingen and another year later in operation. On January 15, 1910, the inauguration of the railway line followed over lamp to Nienburg.

Passenger traffic to Nienburg was set on 29 September 1968 at the end of 1996, the closure of the section between lamp and Nienburg.

Passenger transport by Bassum ceased on 27 May 1994. On 1 September 1995, the setting of freight followed on the stretch between Rahden and Barenburg before it was closed at the end of 1997.

Rahden belonged until 1994 Bundesbahndirektion Hanover.

Location

The Rahdener station is located on the eastern edge of the city center. It lies on the former railway line through Bassum - Herford, which is also called " Ravens Berger train". This leads today Rahden over frets to Herford on the railway line Hamm- Minden.

Earlier, the railway line over Rahden beyond Sulingen after Bassum on the railway line pan - Eickelmann -Hamburg, there was connection and partly by binding to Bremen.
