Raid over Moscow

Raid Over Moscow is a computer game released in 1985 for Atari home computers, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, ZX Spectrum, Enterprise 128 and Apple II The game was developed by Access Software and distributed in Europe by U.S. Gold. It was also published under the title Raid.

The game was brought to the market during the Cold War and is an action game in which the player must attempt to fend off three attacks the Soviet Union to North America, and then to destroy the nuclear arsenal of Moscow.

Action

The game begins with a warning that a nuclear missile was fired in a Soviet city and is located on the way to North America. The player is located at the beginning of the game in the hall, in which there are American spaceships. Of this he has to be careful to fly at least one out of the hangar. The screen display changes and shows the Earth from low Earth orbit dar. The player now controls the spaceship in the direction of the city, from which comes the attack. Alternatively, the player can decide more available space ships to fly out of the hangar to park them as spare machines outside the hangar. Meanwhile, time passes on to the impact of the Russian missile.

Now the pilot tried to come up with his spaceship through the enemy defenses and to fly around the numerous missile silos and avoid obstacles. When he reaches his goal, again changes the screen view. If the player loses his life on the way, the game begins again in the hangar, where the remaining time goes on. If the player has, however, still free space vehicles parked outside the space station, the game continues where the player has lost his last ship.

The last part of this phase involves the destruction of the missile silos.

The Soviets launch two more rocket attacks and all must be resisted in the same way. After the third wave of attack, the second part of the game begins.

In the second stage of the game, the pilots become foot soldiers who fight in front of the facade of the Kremlin on. With a mortar they have the right blow up of five doors to get to the center of the plant. Once the door is open, the way to achieve the soldiers nuclear reactor, and thus the last stage of the game.
