Raimbaut of Orange

Raimbaut d' Aurenga (French Raimbaud d'Orange, * testifies to 1144, 1156/71, † 1173 ) called " le Troubadour d' Orange", was the first Provençal troubadour and one of the most important poets of the Middle Ages. He issued numerous lyrical poems and some Sirventes are obtained and a Tenzone ( an argument ), which he co-authored with Beatriz de Dia ( Beatrix, Countess of Die).

Life

Raimbaut d'Orange comes from a younger branch of the family of the lords of Montpellier. His father was Guillem d' Omelaz ( Guilhem d' Aumelas ), his mother Tiburge d'Orange, the heiress of the Count Raimbaut II From 1156 Raimbaut was, inter alia, Lord of Aumelas ( Omelaz ), Le Pouget, Mont Arnaud and Popian 1171 he inherited a portion of the reign Orange.
