Raisa Bogatyrova

Rajissa Vasylivna Bohatyrjowa (Ukrainian Раїса Василівна Богатирьова, Russian Раиса Васильевна Богатырёва; born January 6, 1953 in Bakal, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Soviet Union) is a Ukrainian politician and former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health of Ukraine.

Rajissa Bohatyrjowa graduated in 1977 their first university degree at the Medical Institute of the University of Kharkov from. In 1996, she earned a second law degree at the University of Kiev. Until the political changes in 1990, she worked in her profession as a doctor and then started her political career as a Member of the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.

From 1994 to 2000 she was in the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, most recently as first Deputy Minister. She then worked temporarily as a scientific advisor to the then President Leonid Kuchma worked and was elected to the Verkhovna Rada again in 2000. From 2002 to 2007 she was chairman of the faction of the Party of Regions ( PR) in the Rada. After the 2007 General Election she was from this office to the former Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych and was vice -chairman. Since the summer of 2006, Ms. Bohatyrjowa was a board member of the PR and a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

On 24 December 2007, she was appointed by President Viktor Yushchenko to the Chairman of the National Security and Defense Council ( RNBO ). Your predecessor in this office was Ivan Plyushch. The leadership of the Party of Regions had specifically asked the Office not to stand as an active member of the PR with an activity in the service of President Yushchenko was incompatible Bohatyrjowa. After Bohatyrjowa decided yet for this office Olexandr Yefremov was chosen as her successor as deputy leader of the PR in the Rada.

In August 2008 Bohatyrjowa was excluded by a decision of the party leadership of the Party of Regions. Last occasion was their critical public expression to the position of party leader Viktor Yanukovych in the Caucasus conflict. Although the Party of Regions had initially called for a neutral positioning of the Ukraine, Yanukovych expressed his support for the Russian position regarding the recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia ..

After the inauguration of Yanukovych after the presidential elections in 2010 it remained first in her position as head of the National Security and Defense Council. In February 2012, she was delivered of this function and the Deputy Prime Minister and simultaneously appointed as Minister of Health of Ukraine.

On 6 March 2014, the Council of the European Union has imposed in Brussels with Regulation 208/2014 restrictive measures against Rajissa Bohatyrjowa. This is justified by the prosecution of Bohatyrjowa for the investigation of criminal offenses in connection with the embezzlement of public funds of Ukraine and illegal transfer of funds abroad.

Rajissa Bohatyrjowa is married with Ihor Bohatyrjow. She has two sons.
