Rakša

Raksa (Hungarian Kisraksa - to 1907 Raksa ) is a municipality in Okres Turčianské Teplice in Slovakia with 221 inhabitants (2007 ) and lies at an altitude of about 542 meters above sea level in the Žilinský central Slovakia.

Main source of income of the village are agriculture and forestry, such as mining. The earliest written mention of the name Roxa dates back to 1277th Other names are Raxa 1280, Hungarian Kisraksa and in 1920 officially Raksa. 1503, the village had two districts called Vysna (top ) and Nizna ( sub) Raksa. 1933, the south adjoining village Nedozor was incorporated.

In 1811 the poet, reformer, linguist Michal Miloslav Hodža was born in the town.
