Ram Charan (consultant)

Ram Charan (Hindi राम चरण; born December 25, 1939 in Uttar Pradesh ) is an American business consultant and best-selling author of Indian origin.

Life

Charan studied engineering science in India. He then worked in Australia. He earned an MBA and received his doctorate from Harvard Business School. Subsequently, he taught at Harvard and Northwestern University.

In Dallas (Texas ) He then founded the consulting firm Charan Associates. He has advised many CEOs and companies (including Bank of America, DuPont, Novarti ); for its deliberations, he has won several awards.

He is a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources and member of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Corporate Governance. Ram was a member of the Board of Directors of Hindalco Industries, Emaar Properties, Austin Industries and Tyco Electronics Fischer & Porter. He also wrote for Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Business Week, Time, and USA TODAY. His book Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done was No. 1 on the Wall Street Journal bestseller list and was also on the New York Times Best Seller list.
