Ramses Shaffy

Ramses Shaffy ( born August 29, 1933, Neuilly -sur -Seine, France, † December 1, 2009 in Amsterdam, Netherlands ) was a Dutch composer and actor. After a career as an actor at the Nederlandse Comedie he moved in the 1960s in the Sangesfach. Some of his songs were in his home country classics.

Biography

Shaffy, grew up under the name Didi Snellen, was born in a suburb of the French capital Paris, the son of an Egyptian diplomat and a Polish countess of Russian descent. He grew up with his mother in Cannes. When she fell ill with tuberculosis, he first came to an aunt in Utrecht, then in a children's home, and finally at the age of six years to foster parents in Leiden. After attending high school, which he left without a degree, he was accepted in 1952 at the Amsterdam drama school. With classmates of his class he brought in 1955 with Olé La Marguerita a first piece on the stage. Shaffy Chantant
