History

Ramtron was founded in Colorado Springs in 1984. 1988, the first prototype of an F- RAM module on the International Solid - State Circuits Conference ( ISSCC ) was presented. Ramtron built in the following years a pilot line for F- RAM devices. In 1998, Rohm with the first own product line, the production of Ramtron. Ramtron was so fabless and focused on the development of F- RAM devices. This requires further development partner were obtained as eg the above mentioned partner companies.

Products

Largest mainstay of Ramtron are memory blocks in F-RAM technology. There are such devices (as of February 2012) in a parallel technology to the size of 8 Mbit (512 Kbit x 16/1 Mbit × 8) and in serial technique to 1 Mbit ( 128kbit × 8). Next memory modules are specially designed for RFID systems offered in addition to memory devices with very low power consumption.

Companion chips, such as serial devices with memory and mixed-signal functions, real-time clocks or Processor Supervisor, round off the range of products to processors around. In addition there is a " state memory " called building blocks that can restore logical status after a power interruption.
