Rankin (photographer)

Rankin (actually: John Rankin Waddell, born 1966 in Paisley near Glasgow ) is a British portrait and fashion photographer.

Life

Born in 1966 in Paisley, a small Scottish village near Glasgow, Rankin grew up the son of a businessman. Rankin is an alumnus of the London College of Communication. Together with Jefferson Hack in 1991 he launched the monthly magazine Dazed and Confused. In December 2000, he first published his own quarterly fashion magazine rank.

He photographed, among others Kate Moss, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Keira Knightley, Vivienne Westwood, Katy Perry, Madonna, Cate Blanchett, Nelly Furtado, David Bowie, and also made ​​recordings for labels such as Hugo Boss and L' Oréal. 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, he photographed for Germany's Next Top Model.
