Rare Bird

Rare Bird was founded in 1969, a British progressive rock band from Birmingham.

History

The music of the first two albums, Rare Bird ( 1969) and As Your Mind Flies By (1970), was dominated by keyboards, guitars could not be used. The Ballad Sympathy reached 1970 rank 24 on the British charts in March. This song has been successfully gecovert 1970 by The Family Dogg, 1971 by Daliah Lavi and 1992 by Marillion. End of 1970, the band broke up after a commercial success, despite good reviews and failed to Graham Field wanted to concentrate on his own project. Later, Mark Ashton took on a solo career.

1972 Rare Bird became active again with the album Epic Forest. In addition to the remaining founding members, vocalist / bassist Steve Gould and keyboardist David Kaffinetti, included drummer Fred Kelly, guitarist Andy " Seth " Curtis and bassist Nick Potter (previously at Van der Graaf Generator ) for the new cast. The following year, an album of radio - elements was published, Somebody's Watching. On this album, the main cast of three percussionists, Al Matthews, Sammy Abu and Paul Holland, and singer Kevin Lamb was supported. The title of Dollars Ennio Morricone's film is an interpretation of music for a few dollars more. In 1974, the last album Born Again with bassist Andy Rae.
