Rataje (Tábor District)

Rataje ( German Rattai, formerly Ratay ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north of Bechyně in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Tábor.

Geography

Rataje is located on the right bank of the Smutná in Bechyně hills ( Bechyňská pahorkatina ). Against the southwest extends the natural park Plziny, in the Jahodinská collected ( 489 m).

Neighboring towns are U Pohodnice, Popovec, Zběšičky and Srlín in the north, Bezinky, Stare Saddleback and Kozin in the northwest, Ovčín, Krida, Liska and Papírna in the east, Dobronice u Bechyně, Větrov and Haškovcová Lhota in the southeast, U Viktorů and Radětice in the south, Soví, Na Pohodnici, Nepomuk and Karlov in the southwest, Borovany, Svatá Rozalie and Bílinka in the west and Zběšice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Rataje took place in a papal tithe directory of the Dean Bechyně for the years 1352-1405. In the 14th century the village was divided between several landlords. Owner of the festivals were in 1360 Petr Stolice of Rataje and his son Jan were in the years 1368 to 1369 it belonged to John of Podol who called himself also Ješek Švenkl of Vršovice. The other unit with a Vorwerkshof and two Kretschen had Purkart or pure of Rataje ( † before 1385 ). Both shared the church patronage. Jan's sons Ones and Beneš of Podol pledged the associated with the estate Podolí Podoler share for a debt from 2000 groses to Johann von Rosenberg. Owner of the other, as Rakover share designated part was from January 1385 Stolice of Rataje, who also owned the Vorwerkshof Rakov. 1395 acquired by Bohuslav Hradek or Hradnice the Rakover share. In 1594, Peter sold Bechinie of Lazan Rataje to Christoph Haslauer Haslau. He owned three-quarters of the good Dobronitz and was built in Rataje as his residence a castle. According to the 1616 written last will Christoph Haslauers his property should be divided among his six sons. As Haslauer died in 1618, the Thirty Years War had broken out and the intended heir of Rataje, Henry the Elder. Haslauer already fallen during the uprising of the Estates. The inheritance was shared with his younger brothers, Henry the Younger, Johann the Younger, Adam Younger, Georg and Wenzel Haslauer who sold the property Rataje with the village Zběšice 1618 her brother. After the abolition of patrimonial Rataje / Ratay formed in 1850 with the district Kozin a municipality in the district team Milevsko / Mulhouse and the jurisdiction Bechyně / Bechyně. After the dissolution of Okres Milevsko the community was associated with the Okres Tábor end of 1960. 1964 Haškovcová Lhota was incorporated. After a referendum Haškovcová Lhota sparked November 24 again in 1990 by Rataje off and formed its own community.

The municipality consists of the villages Rataje Kozin ( Kosin ) and Rataje ( Rattai ) and the monolayer Ovčín.

Attractions

  • Gothic parish church of St. Trinity, it was remodeled in the baroque 18th century.
