Ratislaus

Ratze or Ratislaus of Rügen ( * before 1105, † 1141 ) was King of defects or prince of Rugians (or Ranen ).

He was a son of Wartislaw. His grandfather was Kruto (also: Crito ); his great-grandfather Grin (also: Grimmus ). Ratislaus fought against the unhappy Obotritenfürsten Heinrich.

Ratislaus 's wife was said to be a sister of the Prince of Mitzlaw Gützkow, which was converted in 1128 by Bishop Otto of Bamberg to Christianity.

His descendants were:

  • Tezlaw († 1170 ), also known as Tetzlaw or Tetislaw, who was Prince of Rügen 1162-1170 only king, later
  • Stoislaw I. ( † after 1193 ), also known as Stoislaw Putbus, progenitor of Putbus († 1854)
  • Jaromar I ( † 1218 ), from 1170 Prince of Rügen

On Stoislaw I, whose involvement as a brother of Tezlaw and Jaromar is vague, possibly the origin of the Vilmnitzer church is due. In the first mention of 1249 states that the parish " Vylmenytze " belong to the Erbgütern of Borante de Bora Tenhagen and was already founded by his ancestors. Already in 1351 the Vilmnitzer church is mentioned as the burial place of Putbus family.
