Real Canoe NC

Real Canoe Natación Club is a sports club from the Spanish capital Madrid, with departments for swimming, water polo, diving, synchronized swimming, basketball and rugby union.

History

Canoe Natación Club was founded on October 8, 1931 as a merger of the two sports clubs Canoë Club, a year before the called up by mountaineers club, and Club Atlético Natación, with a focus on the sport of swimming. Over the years, the club opened the other sports, the basketball section was founded in 1940 and 1963 followed Rugby Union.

The Water Polo team of Real Canoe won which remains the only team the Spanish Championship of outside Catalonia. Both the 1998/99 and 1999/2000 Real Canoe took the title.

The basketball team of the men played from 1958 to 1965 in the first division. The crew of ladies was from 1983 to 1985 to win three times in a row, the Spanish Cup and also conquered in 1996 the Spanish Cup.

In a particularly successful history the Rugby section looks back. With five titles in the Spanish league and cup victories ten she is one of the most successful teams in Spain. Since 2005, the professional team operates under the name Canoe Rugby Club Pozuelo Madrid, or just CRC Madrid.

In November 1988, the Association of King Juan Carlos I. was awarded the title of Real (Spanish for Royal).
