Red Sea Jazz Festival

The Red Sea Jazz Festival is an annually since 1987 in the last week of August in Eilat in Israel takes place forming four days Jazz Festival. It takes place in the port area under the open sky. Together with around 70,000 visitors to the biggest jazz festival in Israel.

Founder and until 2008 was director of the Israeli jazz pianist Dan Gottfried ( b. 1939 ), then Avishai Cohen. It is supported by the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the city of Eilat. Some of the concerts are free.

There will be workshops ( in hotel), the meeting of Israeli and foreign jazz musicians serve, offering platforms of collaborative projects, as in the past by Randy Brecker and Mark Egan, Miroslav Vitous and John Abercrombie, Charlie Haden and John Scofield.
