Reginald Waite

Rex Waite (* June 30, 1901; † 7 mai 1975):, with full title Air Commodore Reginald Waite Newnham, was from 1947 to 1949 the head of the British air force units in Berlin.

He was employed by the so-called small blockade of Berlin in the spring of 1948, own calculations, that in the event of a renewed blockade would be possible to supply not only their own troops, but also the people of Berlin via an air bridge. This British planning principles led the American military governor Lucius D. Clay, with an air bridge to try to supply the population of Berlin.

During the Berlin Airlift, he was the senior partner at the British side, and organized the British part of the operation in Berlin- Gatow.
