The RVBW (Regional Public Transportation Baden- Wettingen ) are a regional public transport company in the east of the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. The public company serves a densely populated area with over 90,000 residents.

Operation

Twelve lines with a total length of 117 kilometers, open up not only the eponymous places Baden and Wettingen, but also the agglomeration communities Birmenstorf, Ennetbaden, Gebenstorf, Kill cheeks, Neuenhof, Obersiggenthal, Spreitenbach, Turgi, Untersiggenthal and Würenlos.

The company employs 170 own employees. In addition, take two transport officers, Geissmann Reisen AG and Indemühle Bus AG, on behalf of the RVBW AG. With a total of 63 buses ( 40 articulated buses, 19 standard buses and minibuses 4 ) the RVBW carry approximately 12.5 million passengers annually. The tariff structure of RVBW is integrated into the collective A-Welle.

History

1970 VBW ( transport companies Baden- Wettingen ) were founded. The buses were then burgundy with silver-gray markings. The company was formed from the merger of bus GmbH (Wine Red vehicles ) and the Baumann Bus ( red crème vehicles). It was originally planned to merge with the company Julius Meier and integrate the postal routes this company. However, this failed. Nevertheless, the company Julius Meier procured wine-red vehicles. For several years, therefore, in the Baden wine-red postbuses wrong.

By joining the Scope of the General subscriptions a name conflict with the United Bern -Worb railways originated (now part of RBS ), which necessitated the renaming in RVBW. At the same time the appearance was the standard at that time for Swiss transport operators adapted (vehicles orange with black markings ). This color scheme was replaced in the 1990s by a corporate identity in the colors white and red. The vehicles in accordance with the design specification of the canton of Aargau and have a red-blue- black wave over the entire length of the vehicle.
