Rei Nakanishi

Rei Nakanishi (Japaneseなかにし 礼, Rei Nakanishi; civil Reizo Nakanishi (中西 礼 三, Nakanishi Reizo ); born September 2, 1938 in Mudanjiang, Manchuria ) is a Japanese storyteller and songwriter.

Life

Nakanishi was born in Manchuria, but visited in Tōkyō Aomori and the elementary and middle school. He studied French literature at the Rikkyo University. First Nakanishi translated French songs until he honeymooning in a hotel bar in Shimoda ( Shizuoka Prefecture ) Yujiro Ishihara met and then texts began for Japanese pop ( Kayōkyoku ) to write. Nakanishi applies in addition Saeki Takao (佐伯 孝 夫), Tetsuo Miyagawa (宫 川 哲夫) and Aku Yū (阿 久 悠) as one of the most important pop lyricist of the postwar period. He wrote hits like Kyō de owakare (今日 で お 別れ) and Kita Sakaba (北 酒 场). 1969 increased the sales of his recordings, the 10 million mark. The versatile Nakanishi composed, sang, wrote essays and short stories, gave concerts and appeared on television, on the stage.

The success also had its dark side in the privacy of Nakanishi: heart attack, divorce, and the debt of his older brother. These experiences find their way into the two narratives Kyodai and Sakura no densetsu.

Since the late 80s Nakanishi focuses on the opera production and to the writing of essays. In February 2006, Nakanishi handed over all rights to his musical creativity to the KK Nichion (株式会社 日 音). Currently working as a commentator Nakanishi of the Japanese show Wide! Scramble! (ワイド!スクランブル) of the Asahi Television Network.
