Reinado Internacional del Café

Reinado Internacional del Café ( " International Coffee Queen " ) is an international beauty contest in Colombia. In 1957 he was discharged as a Continental competition under the name Continental Reinado del Café ( "Coffee Queen of the continent " ) for the first time. Venue was then Manizales, where he is still taking place today. 1972, a rule change was decided that the participants allowed from all countries, which also led to the renaming of the competition. Married or divorced women are not allowed under the rules to this day. In 2000, won the Colombian Angie Sanclemente Valencia, had her title but again return after it was revealed that she had conducted a three-month marriage in 1998.

The event is held annually in January between more than 20 competitors. Aligned exceptions were the years 1958, 1960, 1962, 1964-71, 1977-78, 1980 and 1986. Reinado and the Internacional del Café is organized by the Culture and Tourism Institute of Manizales. German participants have been able to twice win the title, which has hitherto succeeded in any country outside of South America.
