Reingers is a municipality with 673 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Gmünd in Lower Austria.

Geography

Reingers located in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria. The area of ​​the municipality covers 24.92 square kilometers. 43.16 percent of the area is forested.

Katastralgemeinden are Grametten, Hirschenschlag, Illmanns, Leopold Village and Reingers.

In Grametten there is a border crossing to Nova Bystřice in the Czech Republic.

European watershed

The European main watershed runs through Reingers. Some of the streams draining westward across Heidenreichstein - Braunaubach further ultimately into the Elbe and the North Sea. The other part drained eastward into the Thaya and thus on the Morava and Danube into the Black Sea.

History

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 719 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 729 inhabitants in 1981 and 809 in 1971, 917 inhabitants.
