The Remagen Railway Station is the city of Remagen railway station on the Left Rhine line. He belongs to the category 3 station. In Remagen station daily and regularly hold regional and IC and EC trains. He also is the start point of the Ahrtalbahn.

History

When the Left Rhine from Cologne to Bonn was extended to Koblenz, the Remagen railway station has been built. He was first approached in 1858, but the station building built in 1860. Since 17 September 1880, he is beginning and end of the Ahrtalbahn. In the 1930s, he was rehabilitated. Even in the years 2007 and 2008 restoration work was carried out. Construction

The Remagen station has a reception building, where a DB travel center and ticket vending machines are located. On the tracks 2 and 3 and in the reception building there are food vending machines. In the course of restoration work in 2008, the platform canopies were replaced and mounted on the tracks new LCD platform displays. Each platform has an elevator which enables barrier-free access for wheelchair users. Track 5 is used exclusively for the traveling on the Ahrtalbahn Rhein- Ahr -Bahn towards Ahrbrück.

A special feature is the cast-iron porch of the station, it is not attached to the building, but stands on its own legs. The hall is originally from Bonn, where she was dismantled for the new construction of the Bonn Hauptbahnhof in 1883 /84 and re-erected in Remagen. The hall is thus older than the station itself.

Since 21 March 2009, the station Remagen a DB Service Store has access to the main platform and the reception building.
