Remigijus Šimašius

Remigijus Šimašius ( born January 12, 1974 in Tauragė, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian lawyer and politician, second youngest justice minister in the Lithuanian legal history, legal scholars.

Biography

Remigijus Šimašius graduated in law at the Law Faculty of the University of Vilnius. Then he studied as a graduate student at LTU University and his doctorate on 17 September 2002 as a Doctor of Law on " Legal Pluralism " (supervisor Prof. Viktoras Justickis ). He then worked as a university teacher of Legal Theory at the LTU University and later in the Department of Legal theory and legal history at the Law Faculty of the University of Vilnius.

From 2001 to 2006 he was a member of the City Council in Vilnius. Remigijus Šimašius was a legal expert and economist at the Lithuanian Institute of free market, Institute President on 9 May 2006 until December 2008. Remigijus Šimašius was Lithuanian Minister of Justice, December 9, 2008 to December 13, 2012. He was nominated by the movement of the Liberals. Since November 2012, he is member of the Seimas.

Šimašius is married and with his wife Agnė Matulaitė, psychologist and psychotherapist, has three children ( Anupras Patrikas, Morta Teresė ).
