Remains of rocket launchers in Germany there are still some places.

In Germany military test rocket at Peenemunde (including Greifswald Oie ) and Cuxhaven and larger civilian rockets were launched in Hespenbusch, Cuxhaven and Zingst. Furthermore occurred during World War II from the war effort of the A4 from different areas in the western parts of Germany. Also for the 1944/45 Bachem Ba 349 developed various launch pads have been built.

Amrum

In the Amrumer dunes ( near North Village / Decoy ) 1945 Start bunker for the A4 were built, but never put into operation. It was a hexagonal pyramidal hopper with starting shaft and an observation bunker. The grounds were visible until the 1970s, but only a local would. Today, they are covered by shifting dunes.

Peenemünde

Of the three older rigs near the Peene stream Erdrelikte are only obtained. From Test Rig VII, the once major start site for A4 are the Erdumwallung, the chute for firing tests, the concrete platform and a few remnants of the assembly hall available.

For the start, there was the measurement and observation tower at the Ruden (received), for the climb there were two measurement and observation bunkers sprinkled on the Streckelsberg to Koserow (1945, but only tipped over and get up in the 1980s, then in the crashed cliff and destroyed, as well as cleared ). The test benches VIII, IX. and X. are only recognizable as Erdrelikte.

The areas of all starting points and test benches are not publicly available because of the presumed remains of ammunition. The plants were inspected in 2010, measured, photographed and documented and are classified as ground monuments. The test rig VII to be cleared from the munitions recovery service and are then made available to the public. The south-eastern areas of the river Peene was used from 1956 to 1990 by the NVA on, the test rigs were among others converted as ammunition and torpedo warehouse.

Greifswald Oie

From the former launch pad at the Greifswald Oie only one piece of track and an observation bunker are present. The area is open to the public.

Cuxhaven

In Cuxhaven, a fixed starting system was only for the Operation Backfire built (the other rocket launches at Cuxhaven made ​​of transportable launchers ). From this day a trench and some bunker remains are preserved. Also, the former Marine bunker that was used by the Hermann- Oberth -Gesellschaft as a start control bunker, still exists. The area is open to the public.

Hespenbusch

In Hespenbusch only portable ramps were used, since only small rockets were launched.

Liebenau

In Liebenau may exist nor the concrete platform, from which the last test launch of the A4 were carried out in April 1945.

Zempin

Zingst

Start sites for the war effort A4

Start sites for Bachem Ba 349

Located on the ox-head within the military training area near Stetten am Heuberg cold market and therefore not accessible to the public, was the starting point of the Bachem Ba 349 Lothar Sieber's first manned launch of the " snake ". From this starting point today is still the concrete slab obtained which, however, is filled. About 80 m northeast of it directly to the memorial stone, the concrete slab of the insert start point is also obtained.
