Renato Bertelli

Renato Bertelli (* 1900 in Lastra a Signa, near Florence, † 1974 in Florence ) was an artist of the fascist avant-garde. Among his admirers was also Benito Mussolini.

Life

He became famous with his futuristic Mussolini - bust " Profilo continuo / Dux " of 1935. He joined in this sculpture the ideals of futurism of energy, motion and speed. A copy of this sculpture can be seen in the Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto. On the declaration table there is no indication that Bert Ellis sculpture represents the Duce. This museum is devoted to a separate section to the study of Futurism.
