The Reno - Tahoe International Airport is an airport in Reno, Nevada. It also serves to connect the ski and holiday resort at Lake Tahoe.

History

The airport was built in 1929 by Boeing Air Transport, and named after the Boeing Vice President Eddie Hubbard as Hubbard Field. In 1936 it was taken over by United Airlines, who built a first reception building. 1953, the airport was leased by the city of Reno, 1956 began with view of the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley, work on today's terminal building. Since 1954 located at the airport and the Reno Air National Guard Base, where National Guard units stationed Nevada.

Operation

In 2009, 3.8 million passengers were handled at the Reno-Tahoe Airport, the largest supplier was the Southwest Airlines. Although referred to the airport as international, no scheduled flights to airports outside the U.S. will be offered.
