Reunion (Country Joe and the Fish album)

Reunion is an album by Country Joe and the Fish from the year 1977., Seven years after their release, the band came together again in their original cast of 1967/1968, and this time all the band members were involved with at least one composition.

It was the sixth and final album together in the group. The album Original Country Joe Band Live at Berkeley from 2005 was released not by Country Joe and the Fish Country Joe but from the band because Barry "Fish" Melton was not involved.

Title

All but two tracks are new songs. The best-known title is Not So Sweet Martha Lorraine ( II), which comes from the band's debut album. He has been accelerated and modernized, and the original psychedelic song was transformed into a folk song. The text has not changed, with the refrain " You know it 's a shame and a pity / You were raised up in the city / And never learned nothing about country ways" ( roughly: "It is a shame and a pity that you grew up in the city and you never know about the way of life on the land. " )

Thunderbird was produced with a String and Blasensemble. It is about the endangered condor.

Gibson's song is an instrumental track. This is followed booming at the philosophizing No One Can Teach You How to Live. Also, the final piece conveys Dreams " wisdom ": " Believe your dreams, They can come true. " ( " Believe in your dreams, they can come true ").
