Reuven Sheri

Re'uven Shari (Hebrew ראובן שֶׁרִי, maiden name: Re'uven Schreibman Hebrew ראובן שרייבמן; born April 7, 1903 in Komrat, Empire Russia (now Moldova), † July 6, 1989 in Israel ) was a Israeli politician. He was in the second legislative term of 2 April - October 8, 1951 Deputy Minister of Transport in Israel. He was from the 1st to the 2nd session of the Knesset Mapai from 1949 to 1955.

Life

Shari received an ordinary traditional Hebrew education before attending the university in Chisinau. He studied law at the university and was one of the founders of the Romanian branch of Ze'ire Zion ( צעירי ציון ). In 1925, he immigrated to Palestine, where he became a member of the Haganah. He was secretary of the Workers ' Council of Kfar Saba (1930-1934) and later the Workers' Council of Rehovot (1934-1943) and of Jerusalem ( 1943-1949 ). During the Battle of Jerusalem (November 30, 1947 - June 11, 1948 ) he was a member of the Jerusalem Committee. In the same year he was alderman of the city of Jerusalem and was Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem until 1951.
